The latest release of my Alternate Reality: The City and The Dungeon remake, Alternate Reality X is now available for download.

The main changes in this release are as follows:
- Modified the internal structure for items and inventory
- Increased internal size of inventory / item buffer from 100 to 250 items
- Now using authentic City Smithy, Dwarven Smithy and D&P item data
- Pick up weapons left by opponents
- Buy weapons and armour from the Dwarven Smithy (not custom weapons)
- Sell old weapons and armour to the Dwarven Smithy
- Implemented player weapon descriptions (e.g. slash, whomp)
- Implemented crossbow & reloading of ammo
- Modified automap to show walls and doors by default
- Re-enabled the “Wait for Encounter” option
- Adjusted encounter frequency
- Modified City starting time to match 8bit version
- Added release specific “Acknowledgements” page
- Fixed – Some encounter images appear outside window
- Fixed – Encounters did not display death message / leave treasure bug
- Fixed – Phoenix encounter crash bug
- Fixed – “Quit” looping / main menu bug
- Fixed – Missing wall section near “Ono Goods” shop
- Fixed – Character creation would accept blank name
- Fixed – Doppelganger attacks with “slimy tentacle”

Hi, I can’t seem to log into the forum to leave a bug report, so hopefully this works, BIG thanks for the new release, great stuff 🙂
The Bug: When I sell an item at the Dwarf Smithy it changes my Inventory Silver from whatever it was to what the sale price of the item was, if I have 10 silver and sell an item for 79 silver I now have 79 silver, also when I deposit silver in my guild locker and go sell to the smith the amount I have now shows what the last sale amount was, say I have 79 silver in the guild locker, I sell an item for 58 silver, I go to the locker and it now says I have 58 silver, if I then deposit the 58 into the locker I have 0 silver in inventory and 0 silver in the locker. Seems like it’s resetting the amounts not adding them, only seems to happen when I sell items to the smith, dam greedy dwarfs 🙂
Hi Stephen, Thanks for reporting that. I’ll take a look tonight. I will put out a 0.81 release soon to fix bugs.
